Our practice is devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of venous disease and its associated complications. We treat varicose veins with a technique called sclerotherapy, which involves the injection of a solution into a vein to close it over time.
Facial veins are typically treated with a laser.
Since 1986, Dr. Deborah Smith and her associates have been providing care for patients with varicose veins and their associated complications, as well as facial veins and skin pigmentation. Sclerotherapy, the injection of a medication into a vein, is the technique we most typically use to close varicose veins. However, if surgical intervention is required, a consultation with a vascular surgeon in the same office can be arranged. This ensures that the patient receives seamless care, whether the treatment required is medical, surgical or a combination of the two.
Before the introduction of medical lasers to treat vascular lesions, facial veins were treated with sclerotherapy. However, for many years we have been able to offer our patients the alternative of laser treatment for many skin lesions both vascular and pigmented.
