Before treatment, we ask the day of the appointment to not shave your legs or apply any lotion. We use alcohol to clean the areas being treated, which can cause irritation if you shave prior. Lotion makes it difficult to keep the compression tape on.
A) Bruises - Almost every patient will experience bruising with treatment. It typically resolves in 1 to 2 weeks.
B) Hard Lumps - When larger veins close, small amounts of blood may be trapped. Although it might be tender; it is not dangerous and your body will absorb these lumps.
C) Pigment - There is a very small risk of pigmentation after treatment.
D) Allergy - Although it is possible to be allergic to the medications, it is extremely uncommon.
No. Many of the veins that you develop through pregnancy will resolve after breastfeeding is finished.
The cotton balls and compression tape stay on for 2 hours. You can use baby oil to rub on the tapes to take them off.
